Satoyama Farm Sdn Bhd

Organic Compost

In tandem with the aim of sustainable agriculture, Satoyama is doing R&D on organic compost.

To expedite our R&D efforts in organic compost, we are collaborating with other organizations.

In May 2017, Satoyama signed an MTA with Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) to transfer Trichoderma found on its farm to do R&D for composting.

Since then, it has successfully utilized beneficial microbes from its farm to digest fiber to produce organic fertilizer in 2 months.

We will work with SBC and relevant partners for commercial production of Trichoderma.

Another strategic partner is UiTM Sarawak where we are currently conducting joint R&D on potential beneficial microbes in production of microbial cellulase enzyme for degradation of organic materials, which can be added into compost to enhance the growth of plants.

One of our consultants is Dr Jenny Lee. As the former director of Sabah Agricultural Research Institute, Dr Jenny provides invaluable advice on methods for large scale production of compost and efficient Organic Planting. In addition, Dr Jenny has a background in Chemistry and Plant Physiology.
